Many of us struggle each day with what we want , the flesh wants what the flesh wants.We will unpack the reasons and ways to fight these feelings.

I’ve been a Christian since I was 10 years old , my parents got divorced when I was 12 years old . I went on in life as young man into the world being tossed and turned into many directions. ,I had my heart broken at a young age by my high school sweetheart and ended up hating God for many years.When her and I broke up I was a mess many years I had thought at that time in my life this is what makes me feel good and I enjoy her company and she was very nice polite girl and came from a great close net family , something that I never had growing up. I thought my life was to be marry her and have children and start my life this is how she and I felt at this early age.We got engaged and things were going well and then one day she says I can’t Marry you, I don’t love you like you love me I’m sorry and she handed me the ring back and she went one direction in life and I went another. Many years had passed and a friend of mine introduced me to a girl named Randi and we got to know each other for few years and ended up getting getting married . I grew on in life to have a wife and two children.

Todays sermon is going to explain my story of how what you think you wanted was not Gods plans for your life no matter what you think or feel or complain or get upset over .He has a greater plan and his purpose and destiny for your life is way bette then anything you might have planned or wanted.

Isaiah 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts

YOU THINK YOU KNOW WHAT YOU WANT !!!

We all want Better jobs and make more money and bigger homes and awesome cool cars to drive,but what does this do for our time here on earth before we pass through to the next and what does this do for your eternal life ahead with Jesus ? Nothing!!! Matthew 6:19-20 Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. ²⁰ But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. ²¹ For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also

Yes these things are nice and God wants all of us to have nice things and live a relaxing life that is financially sound don’t misunderstand me. but beloved stay with me here Ultimately in the big picture these things are attached to circumstances that hold us up in many ways in our destiny and our purpose we were created for.Your destiny and purpose never moves it has been made by God before you were In your mothers womb.Look at this verse in Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed you in the womb I knew you [and approved of you as My chosen instrument], And before you were born I consecrated you [to Myself as My own]; I have appointed you as a prophet to the nations.

So beloved we have to ask ourselves whats our purpose and whats Gods plan for our lives.We need to take inventory because its not how big our house is our how great our outside deck is or how many acres we own or how many cars we have or how much money we have in the bank or even how powerful our career is , but its how we steward what God gives us and how he gives us nice things along the way when we follow Jesus and we do what is right and just and loving to others and follow his commandments the best we can, while we are here on earth in this sinful world.We need to NOT be working for all these things we want and have to haves and start doing Gods will and he will provide the riches and glory for your life here on earth and in heaven.Beloved I know your saying I want what I want I work hard and I deserve the things I have.Yes God wants you to have nice things but we need to be patient and not get these things on our own we need to wait on the lord for the plans he has for us.Let me explain this little deeper .I grew up as a little boy very poor and we lived in 1000 SQ foot Apt and we didn’t have the finer things in anyway shape or form.So when I grew up I wanted everything I could accumulate I mean cars , houses and many luxury items and I would eat at best restaurants , basically sky was the limit and I worked hard I and open money anytime anywhere for I thought this is how life is wow this is awesome.What really was going on was I was trying to fill voids in my life with objects material items,Beloved I want to tell you this was wrong in so many ways.I was a slave to all these things I had purchased and I had to work harder and harder to keep up with what I wanted and wanted and wanted  it was never ending each day was something new I had to have or desired.When we go through with IDEA OF : I work hard I want this now mentality its temporary and let me say this IT WONT last ! and I will say it again it is temporary and will go away this is for sure because if God doesn’t give it to us when he is ready and we do it things without  him they fall down they weather away this is what they call building a house on sand.When you build things in your own power on your own timing it will fall.So years later I had lost the cars and the house and everything we owned.I was chasing a life that God never wanted me to have.None of it wad Gods plan.In a sermon to come I will be explaining Storms and why they come into our lives , this will break this down more for you in few weeks.So working for things more then working towards Gods purpose is very dangerous way to live its a slippery slope ! Again beloved I don’t want you to think I am saying God doesn’t want us to work hard for what we want and what we worked hard for,but it has to be done in pray and and his timing not yours.When we want things in our timing in our own power we will head down a very rough road ahead and consequences for our actions will come up and we will be talking about this deeper like I had said earlier in sermon called Storms
